According to the law, there are currently 2 ways to register temporary residence for foreigners in Vietnam: Register temporary residence online, or register with a direct notification form at the commune/ward police agency.

This procedure can be done by the foreigner himself or by the landlord/landlord simply following the following steps.
Step 1. Access the temporary residence declaration portal
Temporary residence declarants access the temporary residence information declaration website of the Immigration Management Department of the provincial or centrally-run city where the accommodation facility is located. This information page has the format https://tentinh.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/.

Step 2: Register an account to register temporary residence for foreigners online
At this time, the person declaring temporary residence for foreigners will register to create a new account. This step applies if you do not have an account yet, but if you already have an account, you will skip step 2 and go straight to step 3.
This procedure will be carried out at the police station at the commune/ward level where the foreigner resides according to the following steps.
- Step 1: The person directly managing and operating the accommodation facility receives temporary residence information of foreigners.
- Step 2: The person directly managing and operating the accommodation facility downloads the Temporary Residence Registration Form for Foreigners NA17 issued under Circular 04/2015/TT-BCA and fills in all required information.
- Step 3: The temporary residence declarant brings the completed Temporary Residence Registration Form to the Commune/Ward Police Duty Office to register and receive the confirmed form.
