1. Professional positions must have a license to practice medicine

According to regulations in Law on Medical Examination and Treatment 2023 Professional positions that require a license to practice medical examination and treatment include:

- Doctor;

- Physician;

- Nursing;

- Midwifery;

- Medical technology;

- Clinical nutrition;

- Outpatient emergency paramedic;

- Clinical psychology;

- Physician;

- People who have traditional remedies or traditional methods of treating diseases.

2. Conditions for granting medical practice licenses according to new regulations

(i) Conditions for granting new practice licenses for the positions of doctor, physician, nurse, midwife, medical technician, clinical nutritionist, outpatient paramedic and clinical psychologist include:

- Be assessed as having sufficient capacity to practice through examination and assessment of capacity to practice medical examination and treatment specified in Article 24 Law on Medical Examination and Treatment 2023 or have a recognized practice license as prescribed in Article 29 Law on Medical Examination and Treatment 2023;

- Be healthy enough to practice;

- Meet Vietnamese language proficiency for foreigners according to Government regulations;

- Not falling into one of the cases of being banned from practicing medical examination and treatment mentioned above or being sanctioned for administrative violations of medical examination and treatment without a practicing license but the term has not yet expired. have not been sanctioned for administrative violations.

(ii) Conditions for granting new practice licenses to the positions of traditional physicians, people with traditional remedies or traditional treatment methods include:

- Have a certificate of traditional medicine or a certificate of a person with a family medicine recipe or a certificate of a person with a family medicine method;

- Meet the following conditions:

+ Be healthy enough to practice;

+ Meet Vietnamese language proficiency for foreigners according to Government regulations;

+ Not falling into one of the cases of being banned from practicing medical examination and treatment mentioned above or being sanctioned for administrative violations of medical examination and treatment without a practicing license but the term has not yet expired. have not been sanctioned for administrative violations.
