In Vietnam, a number of technologies are encouraged to be transferred to promote economic development and innovation. This article will help you explore the technologies that are being prioritized, from green technology, renewable energy to information and communication technology. According to Article 9 of the Law on Technology Transfer 2017, there are regulations on technology encouraged for transfer, accordingly:
- High technology; machinery and equipment accompanying high technology are encouraged to be transferred according to the law on high technology.
- Advanced technology, new technology, clean technology suitable to Vietnam's socio-economic conditions are encouraged to be transferred from abroad to Vietnam, and transferred domestically when meeting one of the following requirements:
+ Create products with higher quality and competitiveness than products created from existing technology of the same type;
+ Create national, key, and main products from the results of domestic scientific research and technological development;
+ Create services, industries, professions to produce, manufacture and process new products; raise and grow new varieties that have been tested;
+ Saving resources, energy, and raw materials compared to similar technologies currently available in Vietnam;
+ Production and use of new energy, renewable energy; high-performance energy storage;
+ Create machinery and equipment to improve the quality of education and training; machinery, medical equipment, and pharmaceuticals to serve examination, treatment, and protect human health, and improve the physical quality of Vietnamese people;
+ Detect, handle, and forecast to prevent natural disasters and epidemics; rescue; protect the environment, adapt to climate change, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions;
+ Synchronized production in chains has high economic and social efficiency;
+ Create products for simultaneous use for national defense, security and civil purposes;
+ Develop and modernize traditional crafts.
