1. Principles of protecting consumer rights
According to Article 4 of the Law on Consumer Protection 2010, the principles of consumer protection are stipulated as follows:
1. Protecting consumer rights is a common responsibility of the State and the whole society.
2. Consumer rights are respected and protected according to the provisions of law.
3. Protection of consumer rights must be carried out promptly, fairly, transparently and in accordance with the law.
4. Consumer rights protection activities must not infringe upon the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals trading in goods and services, and other organizations and individuals.
2. State policy on protecting consumer rights
The State's policy on protecting consumer rights is stipulated in Article 5 of the Law on Consumer Rights Protection 2010 as follows:
1. Create favorable conditions for organizations and individuals to proactively participate in protecting consumer rights.
2. Encourage organizations and individuals to apply and develop advanced technology to produce goods and provide safe, quality-assured services.
3. Regularly and synchronously deploy measures to manage and monitor compliance with the law by organizations and individuals trading in goods and services.
4. Mobilize all resources to increase investment in facilities and develop human resources for agencies and organizations carrying out consumer rights protection work; regularly increase consultation, support, propaganda, dissemination, and knowledge guidance for consumers.
5. Promote integration, expand international cooperation, share information and management experience in protecting consumer rights.
