In Article 6 of the Law on Protection of Consumer Rights 2023, the principles of protecting consumer rights are stipulated as follows:
1. Protecting consumer rights is the responsibility of the State, organizations, individuals and the entire society.
2. The legitimate rights and interests of consumers are recognized, respected, guaranteed and protected according to the provisions of law.
3. Protecting consumer rights must be proactively implemented in a timely, fair, transparent and lawful manner.
4. Activities to protect consumer rights must not violate the interests of the State, the legitimate rights and interests of business organizations and individuals and other organizations and individuals.
5. Ensure fairness, equality, no gender discrimination, voluntary, not violating the law, not contrary to good customs and social ethics in transactions between consumers and organizations and individuals business.
In Article 7 of the Law on Protection of Consumer Rights 2023, the State's policy on protecting consumer rights includes the following contents:
1. Create favorable conditions for consumers, other agencies, organizations and individuals to fully exercise their rights and obligations and promote initiative in protecting consumer rights; Encourage and honor consumers, other organizations and individuals to participate in protecting consumer rights.
2. Encourage and support business organizations and individuals to research, apply and develop science, technology and innovation in protecting consumer rights.
3. Create favorable conditions to mobilize resources to invest in facilities and develop human resources for agencies and organizations that protect consumer rights and related agencies and organizations; Encourage and promote socialization of consulting, support, propaganda, and dissemination of policies, laws, knowledge, and skill guidance on protecting consumer rights.
4. Protecting consumer rights is associated with promoting responsible business practices, diversifying modern distribution channels, and building an independent and self-reliant economy.
5. Promote integration, expand international cooperation, share information and experience in protecting consumer rights.
6. Improve business ethics, form a safe, civilized, healthy and sustainable consumption culture; Strictly and promptly handle violations of consumer rights.
7. Promote sustainable production and consumption, including the following activities:
a) Encourage and promote investment, production, circulation, distribution, export and import of environmentally friendly products, goods, services and technologies towards a green economy and circular economy to enhance consumer benefits;
b) Support organizations and individuals to apply and develop advanced science and technology, codes, barcodes, and traceability to produce and provide safe and secure products, goods, and services. ensure quality, improve competitiveness of products, goods and services;
c) Actively and responsibly participate in activities to promote sustainable production and consumption in the region and the world.
