“Conditions for foreign organizations and individuals to own housing in Vietnam...
3. For foreign individuals specified in Point c, Clause 1, Article 159 of this Law, they must be allowed to enter Vietnam and are not eligible for diplomatic and consular privileges and immunities according to the provisions of the Law. law.
4. The Government regulates in detail documents proving the subjects and conditions for foreign organizations and individuals eligible to own houses in Vietnam."
Thus, to own a house in Vietnam, foreigners need to be allowed to enter the country and are not eligible for diplomatic or consular privileges and immunities.
Pursuant to Article 74 of Decree 99/2015/ND-CP regulations:
Documents proving the subjects and conditions for owning housing in Vietnam
1. For foreign individuals, they must have a valid passport with an entry verification stamp from the Vietnamese immigration management agency and are not eligible for diplomatic privileges and immunities according to regulations. of the Ordinance on privileges and immunities for diplomatic missions, consulates and representative offices of international organizations in Vietnam.
2. For foreign organizations, they must belong to the subjects specified in Article 159 of the Housing Law and have an Investment Registration Certificate or documents permitted by a competent Vietnamese agency to operate in Vietnam. valid at the time of signing housing transactions (hereinafter referred to as Investment Registration Certificate).
Thus, foreigners who own houses in Vietnam need to have documents proving that they have a valid passport with an entry verification stamp from the Vietnam immigration management agency.
