Bom is not a new face in Ho Chi Minh City, but actually changed location and concept to casual dining and wine bar about a year ago to become more accessible. Before that, some people may have known them under the name Bom Gastronomy (fine dining restaurant).

Bom's current location is a 3-storey building in the center of District 1 opposite New World Hotel, with a beautiful interior design in a modern industrial style, quite similar to some other familiar names such as Pizza 4P's:

The ground floor is a very large open kitchen.

.The first floor is the main dining area and bar, located indoors and air-conditioned, with a “smart mirror” design that makes it feel much more spacious than it actually is.

The second floor has two private rooms, along with an open space for guests who want to sit outdoors.

Our first impression was that Bom knows how to promote the “Michelin brand”. You will see the Michelin word everywhere, from the huge sign next to the entrance to the menus on the tables. They even have a “Michelin combo” menu with 3 dishes recommended by the Michelin Guide.

Actually, Bom did not have such a friendly appearance before. A few years ago, the suffix associated with Bom was “Gastronomy”, which means a high-class restaurant with complex dishes presented in an elaborate manner. But then, with the desire to get closer to Vietnamese people, Bom transformed into Bom Kitchen & Wine Bar, bringing more choices (from 20 dishes on the menu to 40 dishes), more accessible (more affordable prices, from a restaurant with a maximum of 30 diners to a 3-storey restaurant). Expanding in scale, meeting more people means more challenges, and Bom is still learning to adapt every day.

As for the cultural exchange, you will understand right away when looking at the menu: beef, carrots, green onions and cilantro combined with Italian tart shell; complete tortellini with crab paste - the most favorite dish at Bom; "cham cheo" including grilled fish and couscous rice; or the "Trau cau" cocktail which is both fun, warm, and good for your health. Bom calls itself a Vietnamese-European fusion restaurant - Pure Vietnamese ingredients are transformed, blended with the unique features of Western cuisine, creating new flavors and forms for traditional dishes, serving modern diners.

Besides, if there is one thing Bom is proud of, it is the “wine collection” at the restaurant. And although there are still no Vietnamese flavors such as sticky rice wine, rice wine, or most of the desserts do not have their own highlights, Bom has built a quite excellent menu, both personal and capable of “touching” many people – bringing the world to Vietnam, and also bringing Vietnam to the world.

“Upscale casual dining,” as Bom describes it, is one of the most popular segments in the West, with a cozy atmosphere and service that is no less than that of high-end restaurants. Ho Chi Minh City currently does not have many fusion restaurants that utilize modern variations, and Bom will continue to develop its strengths to affirm its position. And “Bom does not focus on competition, just trying to do its best. So far, Bom’s direction seems to be the right one.”
