Phia Po Peak is considered the “roof” of Lang Son, famous for its majestic natural scenery. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand why this place has become an interesting destination for mountain climbing enthusiasts, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists to explore.

1. A few words about Phia Po mountain peak

Phia Po is the highest peak in the group of 80 large and small mountains of Mau Son range. Mau Son peak is often called Mother Mountain by Lang Son people, while Phia Po is called Father Mountain. Phia Po is located about 30 km northeast of Lang Son city, the mountains of Mau Son range are at an altitude of 800 - 1500 m, of which Phia Po is the highest peak at 1541 m above sea level. Not many people know about this place, even the people of Lang Son, so Phia Po is still quite wild, not commercialized and is an attractive destination for those who want to explore new places.

Compared to the trekking/hiking routes that today's travel enthusiasts must take, Phia Po is considered a junior in terms of difficulty and height, but the scenery of Phia Po is majestic and poetic, not inferior to anywhere else. This is a route that you can take in one or two days, ideal for a change of pace, immersing yourself in nature and testing your strength. You can completely climb to the top of Phia Po and go down the mountain in one day if you leave early in the morning. Or you can climb to the campsite on day 1, watch the sunrise and sunset, organize a BBQ party, sleep in a tent, then climb to the top on day 2 and go back down.

2. Phia Po Peak - New backpacking spot for young people

Mau Son is a complex of 80 large and small mountains located in the Northeast of Lang Son province, about 30km from the center of Lang Son city. Of which, the highest peak is Phia Po or Phia Po (as called by the ethnic minorities here) on Cha mountain with an altitude of 1,541m above sea level. In addition, Phia Po is also one of the 15 highest peaks in Vietnam, becoming a new and attractive trekking spot.

If you have the opportunity to visit Lang Son, you will hear the story of "Legend of Mau Son Mountain" of the Tay, Nung, Dao ethnic groups... The story goes that, while Cha Mountain was looking for water for its rice and corn fields, strange mountains from the North came down, plotting to take over the village. Therefore, Mother Mountain had to carry its child to find Father Mountain. Today, if you stand on the border of Ba Son (Cao Loc district, Lang Son), you will see 2 mountains, Cha Mountain and Me Mountain. Cha Mountain is higher, a solid support for Mother Mountain below, which is carrying Child Mountain.

With a diverse terrain and an altitude of 1,541m, Phia Po peak of Cha mountain is among the most beautiful backpacking routes in Vietnam. The natural scenery here still retains its rare wildness and integrity. Especially on the way to conquer the mountain peak, visitors will experience the "dinosaur spine" - that is, the trail with dangerous cliffs on both sides. Therefore, Phia Po peak not only attracts tourists who love mountain climbing but also attracts photography enthusiasts to conquer and explore.
