Discover Coco Home with its unique coconut architecture, offering an unforgettable experience in the middle of the Southern river region.
Located in Cu Lao An Binh area, Coco Home Coconut House stands out with its traditional three-room, two-roof architecture of the South. And the difference is that the house is built entirely from coconut trunks. Even other parts of the coconut tree are used as furniture and decorative items in the house. Creating a new, unique highlight that no other place has.
The owners of the Coconut House are a local couple who have lived on the island for a long time. Mr. Duong Van Thuong and Mrs. Nguyen Ngoc Giac. Their affectionate names are Mr. and Mrs. Tam. They are now nearly 80 years old. The family spent about 6 billion VND to build this special property. And it took nearly 2 years to complete. It is estimated that about 4,000 hundred-year-old coconut trees were used, purchased in Ben Tre, Vinh Long and neighboring areas. The area of the Coconut House is about 4,000 square meters.
Coco Home is divided into many areas such as: self-catering area, dining area, souvenir area, homestay area and fruit garden.
The main house, also known as the temple, is used to worship ancestors and welcome guests. We were delighted to see that the tables and chairs, the couplets, the teapots, and the hanging paintings were all delicately carved from coconut, not inferior to any high-end products. It is true that “luxury is revealed in the rustic”.
To add elegance, the homeowner cleverly displayed flower pots in front of the porch. The garden has a lotus pond and a koi pond that look very beautiful and poetic. Under the cool breeze from the gentle river, you can sit on a swing or go to the dining area next door to enjoy the specialties of the garden. Here, many dishes of the Western region are served, with an attractive menu such as: coconut-root pancakes, grilled snakehead fish, steamed garden chicken with lemon leaves, coconut rice, ... and many specialties of the river region.
Next to the dining room is a souvenir area, selling some types of kitchen utensils and exhibits made from coconut - environmentally friendly products for tourists to visit and buy as gifts or for personal use.
After eating our fill, Ms. Tam introduced us to a homestay, a resort for tourists who want to stay overnight here. The rooms are designed very luxuriously and fully equipped, it can be said that the quality is equivalent to a 2-star hotel. The interesting thing is that everything in this homestay from the ceiling, bed, slippers, sink, etc. are made from coconut. It is known that this area can accommodate about 20 people, including 2 single rooms and 4 double rooms.
In front of the homestay is a fruit garden full of fruit and vegetable beds that are carefully tended by the owner, so they are very lush. Resting here, you will surely be completely relaxed and comfortable. Coming to CocoHome, you can also enjoy the program of "Đàn ca tài tử" (traditional Vietnamese music) served completely free of charge. You can admire the graceful "áo bà ba" (traditional Vietnamese dress), listen to the charming songs and melodies of the Western people. Help visitors love and cherish these very unique identities more.
In modern times, people are racing to build wall houses and multi-storey houses, but Mr. and Mrs. Tam have contributed to preserving the beautiful traditional values of the river region. This promises to be an interesting destination that brings visitors memorable experiences when traveling to the Southern region, to Cocohome Vinh Long Coconut House. Thank you for choosing iGuide.ai to accompany your interesting experiences!
