Conquering Ta Xua peak, 2,865 m high, by trekking will bring a wonderful experience for those who are passionate about exploring adventure travel.

Ta Xua is located in a mountainous commune of Bac Yen district, Son La province, bordering Yen Bai province. Since the road connecting Tram Tau district (Yen Bai) and Bac Yen was opened, conquering Ta Xua has increasingly become a favorite destination for many backpackers.

Ta Xua Peak, one of the highest peaks in Vietnam, is 2,865 m above sea level. Many people choose the route from Tram Tau for a more immersive experience, although the route from Son La allows cars to reach the destination. The journey to the summit is 25.2 km in both directions. This route is divided into many points such as Ta Xua Village, Hai Cay Tao Meo, Dau Rua, Lanh 1, Song Lung Din Long, Lanh 2, Dinh 2, and Dinh 3. Each point has a specific distance to help visitors adjust their time and health.

The first part is an easy road. If you want to save time and energy, you can hire a motorbike taxi from a local from the end of the concrete road to Hai Cay Tao Meo (1,800 m). This road is 5.5 km long and takes about 90 minutes to walk. To climb to the top, participants must be in good health, without high blood pressure or heart disease. Regular climbers can climb up and down during the day. However, the beautiful scenery only appears at certain times of the day, so many people choose to climb and conquer Ta Xua peak in 2 days 1 night or 3 days 2 nights to enjoy the entire route and the most wonderful moments.

To ensure safety when climbing, Ta Xua district has used iron stakes with cables in about 1 km of the most difficult route so that climbers can grip the road and hold on while climbing. March is the time with the best weather, a day can experience many types of weather such as fog, rain, sunshine, wind, sea of clouds and sunshine.

From the foot of the mountain, visitors should hire an experienced guide and a porter to carry personal belongings and cook at the hut, helping to reduce effort and limit cumbersomeness when moving. The price of the tour to conquer this mountain peak is about 2 million VND, in which each porter receives 450,000 VND per day. On the first day, visitors will have to climb from Ta Xua Village (1,500 m) to Hai Tao Meo Tree (1,800 m). The first night, stop at hut 1 (2,300 m), and on the second day, continue climbing to peak 2 (2,600 m) and peak 3 (2,865 m). After conquering Ta Xua peak, visitors will return to hut 1 to rest before reaching the foot of the mountain on the third day.

During the climbing process, participants should prepare full equipment including good quality climbing shoes, waterproof jacket, helmet, sunglasses, gloves, sleeping bag, enough food and water for the whole journey. In addition, it is necessary to bring necessary items such as flashlight, knife, bandage, antiseptic and bandage to deal with emergency situations.

The most important thing when climbing is to ensure safety. Listen to the instructions of the guide and follow the safety rules and regulations. If you encounter a dangerous situation or bad weather, stop and reassess the situation. Do not take risks and continue climbing when there is a high risk.

Conquering Ta Xua peak is an exciting experience, but it also requires careful preparation and good health. Make sure you have thoroughly researched the terrain, route, and weather conditions before deciding to participate. Wish you a safe and enjoyable trip!
