The volcanic cave system in Dak Nong is still wild, vast and has unique structures.

The volcanic cave system in Krong No, Dak Nong province was surveyed by scientists since 2007. After 7 years of research, the Vietnam Geological Museum and the Japan Volcanic Cave Association announced the results showing that this is the largest volcanic cave system in Southeast Asia.

In this volcanic cave system, Cave C7 is a tube-shaped cave with a length of 1,066.5 m, making it the longest and largest lava cave in Southeast Asia. Cave C3 is 594.4 m long, ranking second in Southeast Asia, and Cave A1 is 456.7 m long, ranking fifth in Southeast Asia...

Most of the caves here are tubular, some have forks connecting to form circles. Inside the caves there are only ferns growing, but outside there is a rich vegetation. Many cave mouths are tens of meters deep, requiring special ropes to get down.

The cave has many structures typical of volcanic eruptions such as lava flows and sinkholes. Currently, the volcanic cave system in Dak Nong has not been officially exploited for tourism. Tourists who want to explore this cave system must ask experienced locals to guide them, otherwise it is easy to get lost because the cave system here is large and the roads are difficult.

Currently, the volcanic cave system in Dak Nong is still quite intact, with only research groups and few people visiting. Dak Nong province has also prepared a dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a global geopark. Dak Nong province leaders affirmed that the construction of a global geopark aims to preserve geological heritage, cultural heritage, and natural landscapes. Authorities also hope to build a community tourism model, with people being the main subjects in preserving values.

In September 2018, scientists announced the traces of prehistoric people found in the volcanic cave system of Dak Nong. Previously, only the volcanic cave system in Korea in the world had discovered traces of human habitation. This is also an important discovery in the scientific community and has been added to the dossier to recognize this as a "Global Geopark" sent to UNESCO.

Along with this special volcanic cave system, the Krong No area also has many other famous tourist areas such as the Dray Sap, Trinh Nu, Gia Long tower clusters... Not far away is the Ban Don eco-tourism area.
