Nature and Ecological Reserves

Vietnam is home to many impressive nature and ecological reserves, which are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. These reserves are vital to conservation efforts and offer visitors the opportunity to explore the country’s rich natural heritage.

Among the most famous is Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam’s oldest national park, famous for its dense tropical rainforest and rich wildlife, including the endangered Delacour’s langur. Visitors can take guided hikes, explore ancient caves and participate in wildlife conservation programs.

Vu Quang National Park with 2 Sao La conservation areas in Thua Thien Hue and Sao La conservation area in Quang Nam with an area of over 500 square kilometers is a conservation area for Sao La, known as the "Asian Unicorn" - one of the most endangered large endemic mammals in the world. The reserve offers sightseeing tours, forest walks and opportunities to learn about conservation efforts.

Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its stunning karst landscapes and vast cave systems, including the world-famous Son Doong Cave. Adventurous visitors can join caving expeditions and explore the park’s diverse ecosystems.

In the Mekong Delta, Tram Chim National Park (Tam Nong District, Dong Thap Province) and Phu My Species and Habitat Conservation Area (Kien Giang Province) are important wetland reserves that support many bird species, including three rare species of cranes: the red-crowned crane, the white-necked crane and the black-necked crane. Visitors can enjoy boat tours through the park’s waterways, witnessing vibrant birdlife and lush vegetation.

These nature and eco-reserves are not only about conservation, but also about education and sustainable tourism. Visitors are encouraged to participate in eco-friendly activities, supporting conservation efforts while experiencing the natural beauty of Vietnam.
