Achievements of modern infrastructure
Vietnam has made significant strides in modernizing its infrastructure, driven by rapid economic growth and the need to improve transport, energy, urban development and telecommunications.
The expansion of expressways, such as the Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway and the North-South Expressway, has improved connectivity across the country. Urban transport systems such as the Hanoi Metro and Ho Chi Minh City Metro, along with extensive public transport systems and electric buses and bus rapid transit in cities, provide efficient public transport options. Major airports, including Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat, have been upgraded in capacity and the construction of Long Thanh International Airport will help Vietnam become a major international gateway. In terms of energy, Vietnam leads Southeast Asia in green power installation capacity with projects such as the Trung Nam Solar Power Plant and various wind power projects. The modernization of the national grid with the completion of the 500kV line 3 project has improved energy distribution across the country. Vietnam is expanding urban development with a focus on smart cities and eco-friendly initiatives, with cities such as Hanoi and Da Nang implementing smart city projects. Investment in wastewater treatment and water supply infrastructure has improved environmental health. The development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and Industrial Zones (IZs) has boosted manufacturing and trade. In addition, the deployment of 5G technology proactively enhances digital connectivity.
These achievements highlight Vietnam's commitment to infrastructure development, supporting its growing economy and improving quality of life.
