Located on the vast Central Highlands, Kon Tum's weather is similar to Da Lat's in that it is cool and extremely pleasant.

In Kon Tum, the year is divided into two distinct seasons: the rainy season and the dry season: the rainy season starts in April and lasts until the end of November, while the dry season is from December to March every year. Due to the strongly divided terrain, Kon Tum has many beautiful waterfalls. Each waterfall is an attractive and interesting destination in the journey to explore this land on the "Green Road of the Central Highlands".

Let's explore the majestic and captivating waterfalls in the Central Highlands, Vietnam with iguide.ai!

Dak Ke Waterfall

Dak Ke Waterfall is one of the famous tourist destinations in Kon Tum in general and Mang Den in particular. This is also one of the three famous waterfalls in the legend of "seven lakes, three waterfalls" in Mang Den. Due to its location near the center, Dak Ke Waterfall is one of the waterfalls that was supported and developed into the earliest tourist area in Mang Den. The scenery here is very fresh and quiet. Right at the waterfall, there are spacious and poetic spaces suitable for camping, picnicking, exploring, and feeling the beautiful scenery of nature.

Siu Puong Waterfall

One of the wonderful gifts that nature has bestowed upon Kon Tum is Siu Puong waterfall in Dak Na commune, Tu Mo Rong district. The waterfall is located at an altitude of 1,524m above sea level, amidst majestic mountains and forests. The vertical height from the top of the waterfall to the foot of the waterfall is approximately 140m with 5 main floors in a zigzag shape. The width of the waterfall depends on the rainy or dry season, the water flow season is highest around October, at which time the waterfall is about 30m wide.

Because the entire upper reaches of the waterfall are primeval forests and have not been encroached upon, the water here is clear and cool all year round. Although the road to the waterfall is still difficult and inconvenient, it is truly satisfying to see this wonderful work of nature with your own eyes.

Dak Che Waterfall

Another beautiful waterfall whose source is the forests of Ngoc Linh mountain range, located next to Ho Chi Minh road in Dak Man commune, Dak Glei district, nearly 25km from the district center. This is an ideal stopover for tourists traveling north-south on the Ho Chi Minh road or buses and trucks can stop here to rest, check their vehicles and admire the white waterfall pouring down from above as a therapy to relieve all fatigue after long journeys.

Dak Bru Waterfall

Ngoc Linh Commune, Dak Glei District is not only known as the place where the Xo Dang ethnic group has lived for generations with villages on the mountainside covered with white clouds all year round and terraced fields, but also has a very beautiful waterfall, the villagers here call it Dak Bru waterfall. The waterfall is about 20 meters high, the water here is clear all year round. At the foot of the waterfall are large rocks with veins eroded by the water over time. Every afternoon, people from the surrounding villages often come here to bathe and wash clothes. In particular, above the head of the waterfall and at the foot of the waterfall are terraced fields, so when the rice is ripe, it will create a poetic scene, making anyone who comes here want to capture beautiful moments for themselves.

Y Hai Waterfall

From Ngoc Linh commune, along Provincial Road 673 to Mang Ri commune, Tu Mo Rong district, the section bordering Provincial Road 672, we can see a white waterfall pouring down from a towering mountain, that is Y Hai waterfall. Above the top of the waterfall is the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee Base Revolutionary Historical Site with deep green primeval forests and below are winding terraced fields, stacked on top of each other, creating a watercolor painting in the majestic wilderness.

Tea Prong Waterfall

In addition to Siu Puong waterfall, Y Hai, Tu Mo Rong district, there is another famous waterfall known to many people in the area, Tea Prong waterfall in Dak Chum 2 village, Tu Mo Rong commune. The waterfall is located about 500 meters from Provincial Road 672, so you can hear the sound of flowing water when turning from the provincial road onto a small dirt road to the waterfall. Just after passing the section of interwoven bushes, we have an overwhelming feeling when before our eyes is a white stream of water gushing among the forest trees, bringing a feeling of clarity and peace to the point of amazement. Because it was formed on a steep terrain, there are many locations that form different layers of water, so it is also called a "multi-layer" waterfall.

Dak Pe Waterfall

Dak Pe is a beautiful waterfall located about 30km north of Dak Ha district center. From Provincial Road 677, turn onto a small concrete road through village 10, Dak Pxi commune about 2.5km, winding through the houses of the Xo Dang people and cassava fields, terraced fields to reach the waterfall area. Due to the high, strongly divided mountain terrain, when Dak Tia stream flows here, it rushes down the rapids, creating a soft, graceful multi-layered waterfall.

The entrance to the waterfall is also very poetic and cool, winding through rows of shade umbrellas growing interwoven on both sides of the stream. Thanks to the preservation of the forest upstream, the water flow here is stable all year round. The area around the waterfall is still deserted and wild, not much affected by modern life, you can hear the deep sounds of the water echoing from far away. It must be said that Dak Pe waterfall is a wonderful gift that nature has bestowed on Dak Pxi and for those who love to conquer and explore the beauty of nature to enjoy the peaceful landscape, enjoy the fresh and cool air typical of the Central Highlands mountains and forests.

Monkey Waterfall

A waterfall that has been visited by many tourists recently is Monkey Waterfall. The waterfall is located deep in the forest of Chu Mom Ray Nature Reserve in Sa Son Commune, Sa Thay District. The name Monkey Waterfall is quite special because it is home to many primate species.

They often gather here to look for wild fruits to eat, play and drink water at the waterfall. Although not as majestic and majestic as other waterfalls, Monkey waterfall is sought after by many young people to conquer and explore because it is not too far from Kon Tum city and around the waterfall area there are suitable places to organize picnics, outdoor activities, and learn about the flora and fauna here.

Mo Waterfall

Right in Kon Tum city, there is also a very poetic and charming waterfall but few people know about it, which is Mo waterfall in Hoa Binh commune. The reason why few people know about it is because the waterfall only has water from May to November every year, the remaining months here are just a dry, barren stream of rocks. Mo waterfall consists of 2 small waterfalls located close to each other, the upstream is the hills of Chu H'reng mountain range.

In addition to the above waterfalls, Kon Tum still has many other waterfalls. Each waterfall has its own beauty and depending on the season, the water can be more or less, traffic can be convenient or difficult.

However, to see the waterfalls with our own eyes, we need to be in good health, equipped with basic knowledge about climbing, survival in the forest and knowledge about environmental protection to have interesting trips, fully enjoying the beautiful moments that nature brings to us.
