The Ta Nang - Phan Dung route is over 50 km long, located in three provinces of Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan. With a variety of vegetation, majestic scenery and moderate difficulty, this is a suitable choice for trekking for all ages.

The Ta Nang section of the trail offers beautiful scenery, with grass growing along both sides of the road and not too steep hills. Meanwhile, the Phan Dung section (down to Yavly waterfall) has a rather slippery, winding road with many slopes and trees mainly made of pine. Reaching the top of Ta Nang, the evening often has a thick and fast fog, and the wind blows strongly in the middle of the night.

To have a safe trekking trip and enjoy all the natural beauty on this route, you need to equip yourself with the necessary skills.

First, prepare yourself mentally and physically. You will be wandering around the forest for about 2-3 days with almost no phone signal, very low temperatures at night and strong winds. So, prepare warm clothes, sleeping bags and get used to personal hygiene in a forest. Health is a necessary and sufficient condition for you to be able to overcome the journey of more than 50 km with just your feet.

The route is not too difficult but has many forks. Contact the locals in advance to have someone to carry your belongings and guide you. They will help your group move more smoothly and avoid getting lost. There have been cases of disappearances and fatal accidents on this route. Therefore, going alone without a guide will create many dangers. Prepare a good raincoat if you choose to trek on this route during the rainy months (usually July). The weather can change suddenly with dark clouds and rain starting within a minute of the thunder. Therefore, to ensure that your luggage does not get wet, prepare your supplies carefully.

Quality shoes are a must when starting your journey. They will make your steps more stable and light. To avoid being bitten by leeches (small blood-sucking animals that live in bushes) and scratches from grass, use shin and sleeves. When forming a trekking group, many people often prepare their own food and water, but the leader (leader) should set the standards for eating during this journey. Sometimes, some groups only bring a few pieces of bread and a bottle of water, leading to members having to go hungry all night long. Lack of food and water will affect your health during the journey.

You should also not stay too long at a stream, if you see signs of flooding, move away immediately. Because the flood here can increase very quickly, and if you are not careful, you can be in significant danger. Although you prepare a lot, your experience will be worth it. For example, you can admire the sunrise on the top of Ta Nang, and you will be impressed by the sincerity and enthusiasm of the Chu-ru ethnic porters, helping the journey go smoothly.

Trekking, like any other form of travel, always has some potential dangers that you may not expect. So, no matter what type of travel you participate in, always be well prepared, especially with basic survival skills.
